Ik heb eindelijk mijn Grandiflora<\/strong> borduurwerk voltooid! Dit prachtige driedimensionale ontwerp verscheen voor het eerst in Inspirations<\/em> Inspirations magazine<\/a> , vaak omschreven als het mooiste borduurtijdschrift ter wereld. Inspirations<\/em> staat bekend om projecten die zowel technisch uitdagend als artistiek indrukwekkend zijn, en Grandiflora<\/em> is daar een perfect voorbeeld van.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ik begon al in 2021 aan Grandiflora, maar destijds was ik nog vrij nieuw met driedimensionaal borduren. Het bleek een grotere uitdaging dan ik dacht. Het was mijn allereerste project met 3D-vormen en ik maakte heel wat fouten onderweg. De grootste fout? Ik knipte de draadstaartjes veel te kort af, waardoor ik nauwelijks materiaal overhield om de blaadjes en bloemblaadjes vast te zetten. Toen ik doorhad wat ik verkeerd had gedaan, had ik alles al op die manier geborduurd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gefrustreerd legde ik het onafgemaakte project weg in een lade. De gedachte om alles uit te halen en opnieuw te doen, haalde mijn motivatie volledig weg. Maar zelfs uit het zicht bleef Grandiflora in mijn gedachten. Het is zo\u2019n opvallend stuk en ik wist dat ik het ooit af wilde maken<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fast forward a few years: my embroidery skills and confidence have grown, thanks to tackling other projects in the meantime. With fresh eyes, I came up with a way to reattach new wire tails, cleverly hiding them so there was enough length for mounting. It wasn\u2019t perfect, but it worked\u2014and suddenly the project had life again. If you look very carefully you can still see just the tip of the correction hidden in between the white and the brown parts of the bud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toen de vormen eindelijk klaar waren, begon de zoektocht naar de juiste tak om alles op te bevestigen. Ik zocht iets natuurlijks, stevig en met karakter. Vorige week vond ik precies de tak die ik in gedachten had. Tot mijn verrassing bleek het boren en bevestigen van de onderdelen, waar ik het meest tegenop zag, \u00e9\u00e9n van de makkelijkste stappen van het hele proces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En het resultaat? Ik vind het absoluut prachtig. Na alle fouten, pauzes en creatieve oplossingen voelt het geweldig om Grandiflora in 3D tot bloei te zien komen. Het herinnert me eraan dat sommige projecten gewoon even moeten rusten tot wij er klaar voor zijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
